By their works ye shall know them. In the unlikely event there is a causative intelligence behind the universe, it is clear that it has no concern with justice, mercy, the survival of individual creatures -- or even the species of which they are a part. The notion that it might have have the slightest interest in the functioning, beliefs, or values of human societies is, quite frankly, ludicrous.
