Christians fear being exposed by science and often flee from any discussion of it in trying to defend their faith. They seem equally bothered by contemporary history since there is absolutely none that corroborates the biblical stories in the bible. This is especially curious because both the Romans and Egyptians were meticulous about keeping records.
