God & Religion through "Anthropomorphism" is the same as religious belief as a result of Projection. Projection is a well known psychological process. Through projection we see our own Gods & devils, our own fears & our own superstitions. Religion is based totally on projection it is an unconscious process though & often completely irrational & illogical. Its a part of the nature of human beings for better or worse (often for worse sadly!).
