people who beleive in a god do simply have a more vivid imagination than the atheist, and I don't mean that in a mean way. All
a "relationship with God" is a relationship with an idealized version of yourself. We just project our idea and
desires and opinions onto the unknown, and give it our personality.You don't believe me now but I bet you will someday.

Listen to what your friends are saying closely. Do they really sound like they are all describing the same being,
or do some of the details show they are each talking about an invisible, perfect, powerful version of themselves?
