buddhism is the only modern religion i can really respect because buddhism is technically not even a religion because there is no worship of a deity or praying it doesnt care about race or gender or orientation there is no heaven or hell there is no invisible man in the sky watching everything you do every minute of evry day with a special list of 10 things he does not want you to do and if you do any of those things hes got a special place for you where you scream and choke and burn and yell and get tortured and thrown into a lake of fire and die for the rest of time...no buddhism is nothing like that its actually technically not even a religion its an idea at acknowledges the possiblities of other realms and such but it also acknowledges science it encourages you to go out there and get shit done for yourself test things for your self experience feel and live for yourself not even assuming right off the bat that what buddha himself tells you is true its about taking all those experiences and feelings for what they are and making a hypothesis that fits YOU so that YOU may acheive peace with out the help of any deities which people have been doing for far longer than christianity has been around and there for disproving christianity before it even began
