It is all the rage to respect people's beliefs but why congratulate them for something they were not responsible for? Your religion is chosen for you. Believers in talking snakes would think this absurd but flying horses plausible if they happened to be born somewhere else. Nobody respects other peoples beliefs. They are simply afraid of persecution themselves and seek a truce.
