Religion is a mental adaptation homo sapiens evolved to handle uncertainties in life and the fear of non existence after death. It forged cooperation, social ties beyond blood relatives in a time where life was short, brutish and survival was subject to nature and chance. We still hadn't discovered electricity, powered flight, modern medicine. Do we trust the thinking of such primitive men when we think our own parents are old fashioned and out of touch with modern thinking and technology. The answers of the future will not always come from the past.
