Religious certainty: an ancient mountain range of complacent superstition -- much eroded by the elements -- the scourings of doubt, investigation, and truth. Of course -- a rocky archipelago remains -- teeming with determined limpet believers -- but the tides of science, knowledge, and social realism continue to encroach, and, persistently, rise.
