If in all religions, you believe that one god exists, and that there is no other, then that creates a collision of opinion, in the end it all comes down to this... if one believes that god exist and buddha is not a god, and people that believe in buddha and that god is not real,it counts for all religion, then one cancels the other out, so religion in the whole is detroyed by the ignorant "believers" |

In the years before the scientific method was formed, humans were always trying to explain why the earth works, they royally screwed up. I don't think that any creation myth written shows any merit. I think that we have proven that Zeus does not cause every single bolt of lightning, or that every single time there is a hurricane that Poseidon caused it. Even Theists will claim this to be true, but then why do they believe that the world was made in 6 days, women were made from ribs, and that man lived to be 900 years old. They are all trapped, and it is a skeptics job, not to "convert" them, but to get them to think rationally, that is the path to truth. |

Knowing that this is the only life we have, atheists tend to treasure it and make every moment count. We believe that there is a lot to live for. Unlike theists who believe that this life is only a dress rehearsal and their "imaginary afterlife" is all that counts. That is really sad. |

Religious people say that we are selfish for just being what we want to be... Isn't the fulfillment of pleasing your god a selfish act in itself?
This would be like my parents always telling me that I HAVE to be a doctor. What if I'm just not the person to be a doctor? Am I selfish by wanting to be something other than what I'm told to be? Isn't the fulfillment of helping others and being "selfless" actually selfish in itself? If no one was selfish, would happiness exist? It certainly couldn't! |
