"I have no religion, and at times I wish all religions at the bottom of the sea. He is a weak ruler who needs religion to uphold his government; it is as if he would catch his people in a trap. My people are going to learn the principles of democracy, the dictates of truth and the teachings of science. Superstition must go. Let them worship as they will; every man can follow his own conscience, provided it does not interfere with sane reason or bid him against the liberty of his fellow-men." |

If you belonged to a political party or a social club that was tied to as much bigotry, misogyny, homophobia, violence, and sheer ignorance as religion is, you'd resign in protest. To do otherwise is to be an enabler - a mafia wife. |

there is a very apt and appropriate way to summarise organised religion, and it is that Christianity, Islam and Judaism are like children in a classroom.
Christianity is the boistrous, over bearing bully that shouts his opponents down. He pushes people around and tells them what to think.
Islam is a moody, mysterious boy who sits relatively motionless for a lot of the time, but the moment someone looks at him the wrong way he becomes enraged and tries to kill them.
Judaism is a quiet, reserved boy who sits at the back of the class, getting on with his work, hoping that Christianity and Islam are making a big enough scene so as not to attract any un wanted attention towards him.

It constantly amazes me how little Christians know about their own religion. Most biblical scholars believe that their Christ child was born either in the spring or the fall. Christmas is just the Winter Solstice, which the Christians hijacked from the pagans in order to make it easier to convert them to their religion. Christians need to stop getting their undies in a bunch and get a clue. They're celebrating a pagan holiday! |

you would not be much of a free human if you are a slave to a god |

| Dustin Harman |
Based on the logic of Mr. Unknown, that everything must have a creator. I don't mean to be cliche, but then what created the creator? And if you say the creator has always been, why can't the same be inferred about the universe. And even then, all that suggests is that there is a powerful force. We still don't know what it is or who it is, and we damn sure don't know if he's ever directly influenced the people in our world. So even by your thinking, "God" is still not certain, only a higher power. Inferring the existence of something doesn't allow you to then create stories where it is the main character. |

Baron von Knifty |
Why is science required to explain itself to religion? What law states that religion needs be given any respect? You can’t argue reason, logic or common sense into any discussion with religion. As soon as religion answered any serious question with, “It’s god’s will,” they should have been shown the door.
