It is a mark of the peculiar perversity of mankind that most prefer to see the enormous random cruelty of existence – not as an arbitrary, capricious element intrinsic to the condition of sentience -- but as something within the purview of a deliberating consciousness – a circumstance ascribable to an omniscient, omnipotent, and beneficent creator. |

God exists, but at the same time it goes against the will of any kind of God to condemn somebody for not believing in one. People are free to do what they want and chose what they'd like to believe. That's why i'm not religious at all but i find myself everyday praying and working for what i wan't to achieve in life. Religion is evil and will turn a good man into the most evilest of sinners. Live life however you choose too, but don't downgrade someone else's thoughts of not believing what you may or may not believe. |

I would believe in religion if someone can answer two questions. (1) If God made women as physically strong as men, would there be so many crimes committed against women? (2) If religion is so good then why millions have been killed in the name of God and religion? |

God asked me once if I believed in him. I said "of course not." His response was "then why doth thou spaketh upon thee?" I responded "because you're here for me." He said "no, I'm not here." To which I said "then how am I speaking to you now?" to which he responded "because you're insane?" My pet donkey is so silly. |

So there is presently more than one religion in existence that says non-believers are going to Hell, or some other equivalent. Given that all religions have roughly the same level of believability and truth, we can deduce that everyone on the planet is destined to go to Hell. If everyone is going to Hell, it must not be such a bad place after all. |

Religion easily has the best bullshit story of all time. Think about it. Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money. |

Ok, I’m a bit confused. Walk with me a little bit here... Matthew 12:40 “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” This is the basis of the christian faith, the 3 day resurrection.
Mark 15:25 “And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.” Mark 15:42-43 “42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.” If it was the day before the sabbath, Friday, and it was the third hour that they crucified him, Jesus was crucified on a Friday at 3:00. I won’t even go into the other versions or stories of who came for the body, just more story telling in the biggest of all stories.
Mark 16:1-6 “1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. 3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. 5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.” The first day of the week is Sunday on the Hebrew calander. If Jesus was crucified at 3:00pm on Friday, and “gave up the ghost in the ninth hour” 9:00pm, and Mary Magdalene and Mary came on the first day of the week, Sunday, at sunrise, and Jesus had already risen... sounds like a day and a half, or maybe less to me. Why can’t people understand these are simply stories designed to control people? ... make them think they way they want you to think? ... look at some of the replies from the “faithful” saying that freethinkers are on their way to hell... I for one can’t go somewhere that doesn’t exist... I don’t remember who said it, but “the best cure for religion is reading the bible.” If the “faithful” actually read the book, really read it, how much would they believe? |

I dont have anything against religion...but I got a problem with the people that believe in God. If by any case I dont support gay marriage the reason wont be because a mysterious identity tells me that it has to be a man and a woman. If by any case I dont support abortion it wont be because if a life and is a sin if you take away someone elses life. I dont support neither gay marriage nor abortion because its their decision, their right to choose what may be better for them... Want to marry with another man/woman? go ahead since thats not me. Im against the religious people because they think they have the argument to stop the right of another human being even if a book told you it isnt right, you are no judge and you wont become one that way. Science could fail it has the tendency to have an error even if it is a tiny percent but books algo have some mistakes just like the mind of humans. |

If god is "all powerful", why doesn't he/she/it convert satan? (… as if either exist …) … and if he/she/it can't, how can he/she/it be "all powerful"? … and if he/she/it won't, then he/she/it is just as evil. … Plus, how could a father plot to kill his own son to make people follow him. … religion does not make sense. |

Now Venter says he has built a living bacterium from nothing but chemicals and code: "Our cell has been totally derived from four bottles of chemicals", he says. In fact, it was grown using yeast as an intermediary, but to the molecular biologist, organisms are just another kind of apparatus. It looks like the complete triumph of the materialist programme.

Christianity… is an old metaphysical fiction, stuffed with fables, contradictions and absurdities: it was spawned in the fevered imagination of the Orientals, and then spread to our Europe, where some fanatics espoused it, where some intriguers pretended to be convinced by it and where some imbeciles actually believed it. Attributed in "The West and the Rest", by Niall Ferguson, Penguin 2011 (Kindle edition). |

In my opinion the catholic pope is the most extreme dictator in the history of mankind. Here are some of my reasons: 1) He thinks he is INFALLIBLE. 2) He issues dictates telling people WHAT THEY MUST BELIEVE and HOW THEY MUST LIVE. 3) According to catholic "morality" if anyone rejects even one of the pope's dictates in matters of faith and morals, they will be not merely executed, they will be TORTURED IN FIRE FOR ETERNITY. Thus,in my opinion Stalin, Hitler and Mao were not even in the same league as the pope as extreme dictators. |
