I have always had my doubts about an all powerful being located in the sky.
When I served in Iraq in 2003, that is when I knew there was no god. I observed the people of Iraq and saw the hatred they had of not just other religions, but of different sects of the same religion. The sunni and shia sects of islam believe in the same god but hate each other. That makes no sense to me.
All modern day religions started in the middle east and all modern day religions are offshoots of the jewish religion. If they all believe in the same god, then why all the fighting?
I have spent a total of 26 months in the middle east. I have learned that in their culture it is OK to lie. After 26 months one gets very tired of lies. Based on this, why should I believe a word anyone from the middle east says about a god or religion? And why should I believe in any god or religion that was invented in the middle east. I cannot, that is why I am proud to say I am an Atheist and I am even more proud my daughter is a free thinking Atheist.

Theists are terrible at debates because they rely on faith based assumptions rather than fact. When theists claim to have facts you end up with creationism, which is close to uncomprehendingly idiotic. |
