the mother of you child holding him or her in her arms the shock wave from a firing howitzer as the shell hits the ground the beauty of stem cell research that most religous people dont support because we are arrogantly "playing god" that will quite possibly one day save the life of YOUR child and you arrogantly renounce it a dying star exploding into a super nova creating a nebula of star dust that will one day be the birth of a new star that will be birth of multiple civilizations there by creating an endless cycle of life and evolution which will probably create people who will be pondiering the same things we are now in the same exact ways that we do today these are the things that are beautiful because of how far weve come how far we will go how how many lives we will save with these advancements many of which we will hold dear this is why these things are beautiful in the ways they are and if you cant see the beauty of these things without god or you need god to make these things beautiful then you truly are blind to the world |

And talking of cats: They have NINE lives, so does this mean they have NINE afterlives?
If this IS so, then that "other place" they keep going on about is going to smell to high heaven of cat piss! |

If you can never fully understand another person, how do you expect to understand god? If you can't understand god, when you don't need to understand. If there really is a god, and god needed you to understand it, wouldn't there be a way to do that? So if its not important to understand god, it probably doesn't matter whether or not god actually exists at all. |

It should make anyone ponder a while when it's been realised that the light that we now see being emitted from the furthest galaxies in our universe began its journey (at 186,282.4 miles per second), some 13.23 MILLION years ago.
The Biblical account of creation makes our Earth and everything outside our Earth a paltry six and a half thousand years old.

I can believe I've wasted 5 minutes of my life watching that crap. So, let me get this straight. I've never visited America, but I know it's there. I've never been in space, but, because I accept someone else's logic (astronauts, astrophysicists), I know it's there. I've never seen god, but I must accept that he exists because you people say otherwise. Newsflash for you: there is a huge amount of video footage of both America and the visible universe. From different and independent sources. Thousands of them. There isn't one .jpg or .avi file in this world documenting the existence of any god. I wonder how you can repay me for wasting my precious 5 minutes. |

Under Islamic law EVERYONE who doesn't believe that Allah is the one and only god and that HE alone must be obeyed; prayed to and given zakat (a direct tax to fund that religion ((for the upkeep and the building of mosques and the propagation of Islam)), and to help the needy AND to pay for the collectors and the collection of zakat) is going to Hell in a handcart. EVERYONEOF THEM !! That even means those who only pretend to be Muslim in an attempt to avoid the sulphuric fires of hell in eternal damnation. There's no dodging it 'cos Allah knows all and sees all.
So that's about 90+ percent of the world's population who are destined to burn for ever in the fires of hell!!!
Oh what a lovely god is this Allah chappie. |

Dr. Idel Dreimer |
How Gods reflect their creators! The Gods of primitive, ignorant, and vulnerable societies seem immediate, arbitrary, and cruel -- requiring significant appeasement and sacrifice in return for a mitigation of their fury. In modern societies -- more knowledgeable and self-sufficient -- God is more like an elderly benevolent uncle living in a distant city; in the right mood, he might be good for a new red bicycle, or a crucial, reassuring win for the home team. (Observation # 668) |
|
Dr. Idel Dreimer |
The notion that religions represent the word of "God" -- as discovered by self-proclaimed special human intermediaries -- is laughably absurd. Yet the belief has persisted even into modern times. A different idea -- that Gods and religions represent -- merely-- human theories and suppositions about reality -- satisfies the detached intellect, but does not feed, apparently, a deep emotional hunger. Is it too much to suggest that an early infantile illusion -- a perception of parental perfection, power, and benevolence -- is mirrored in the yearning for "God?" (Observation # 648)

Religion -- the refuge of those for whom thinking is too much of a challenge. (Observation # 669)
