It's a peculiarity of that particular religion that women are second-class and inferior. Therefore, their god presumably has no qualms about assigning seventeen (most probably brainwashed and willing), virgins to one man. If that religion annoyed most of its women, most of the time, then there would be internal stresses that would bring about eventual change. But mostly the women seem to defend the status quo, or at least acquiesce peacefully to it. Imagine being told you HAD to walk behind your wife. No man would like that. Incidentally, they say they walk ahead to defend the woman if someone is lying in ambush. But this is utter nonsense because I've seen men carrying a baby (surely you'd want to protect them equally?), while the women walk some distance behind overloaded with shopping. It would make more sense to let the woman carry the baby and the man the easily-jettisoned and relatively invaluable shopping. But this whole pretence should hardly matter outside dangerous areas of the world. Where's the justification in peaceful places like Solihull, England? Like I said, women are just inferior to some people. |

To believe in a higher power is to take it away from myself. We don’t have to be gods or world leaders to make the world a better place – we simply have to start with ourselves. I believe in myself & all things natural that surround me in my world - that is what's real to me.
