There are many things that remain unknowable & unknown i.e. a mystery. Often humans cannot face the unknown. I don't have a problem defining myself as an Atheist. IMO most religions cause more pain & suffering than they claim to heal. Religions are just another form of either political party i.e. Catholics or tribes i.e. Jews or Muslims or anything else you can mention. There are always "in" groups & "out" groups, those religions like & those they are against. |

I went to a church of christian's and I didnt want to go inside because I knew I didnt believe. For the time being I sat on the steps outside of the church and a young paster came to me, asked me why i wouldn't go into the church and listen to the words of god. I told him I was an Atheist. He looked and told me if."I dont believe soon enough in to the christin belief. That i would burn in hell , i would be tourted, pian rickened, i will forever more pray to god and i as i am another lost soul and must be found. He spit it my face and siad may god have pity for the people like you. I got up and spoke but words didnt come out of my mouth. He siad to sit but i didnt and would never listen to a man to be so vile and cruel to spit in my face like that. I pushed him and down and told him "may your god have pity on you . "you selfish fucking baster, i will never belive . This is why i dont beleive because of PEOPLE LIKE HIM. |

One thing that has always puzzled me about the idea that the Earth is only about 6000 years old is the dinosaurs. If indeed the Earth is as young as these people say it is then it follows that 99.999% of the Earth's history has been populated by humans. And if Genesis is anything to go by, civilisations in one form or another have been around for that long also.
Why is it then that none of these different societies that must stretch back to the dawn of creation make any mention at all of these fabulous creatures that roamed practically every square mile of the Earth's surface. Even if they didn't call them dinosaurs, which of course they wouldn't have, they must still have run into them. I mean, they where everywhere and many of them were the size of houses. I mean, how could you miss them?
But no, the only animals that seem to get a mention are the likes of cattle, sheep, goats, fish, lions etc. etc.
No mentions of the likes of T-Rex, Stegosaurus, the Sauropods (you really have to have your head buried in the desert sand to miss those), Triceratops and all the others. Nothing about them in the bible, no mention of them in other ancient texts, no cave paintings, no tools or weapons found fashioned from T-Rex teeth or Stegasaur spines. Nothing.
If the Earth really is 6000 years old and people and dinosaurs lived together how is it that none of these people seem to have noticed them? |

...don't let's go overboard here and risk turning our radical beliefs into another religion. I would hate to see agnosticism and atheism PREACHED as the alternative to faiths that so many people are comfortable with. And I also "pray" that these proposed changes in our schools religious studies and teachings are not hijacked by the pious who are all too biased in their own God fearing beliefs, nor to radicals intent on subversion. I certainly wouldn't go along with the tenet that the teaching of atheism to our young should be the order of the day. Teach Earth science by all means, but let the children form their own opinions. |
