Crikey, we're get a little off beam here, discussing science.
Yes, the Earth's gravity depends on the MASS of the Earth. The MASS is at it's optimum at the point furthest from the centre of the Earth )the thickest point). Thus a suspended "plumb line" will settle at a point directly pointing to the centre of the Earth/MASS.
Notes:
1) Two high plumbed pillars set a good distance apart will never be vertically parallel.
2) Three high plumbed in line pillars set good distances apart will never be vertically parallel.
3) If you put a datum/level mark on the face of each of those pillars using a water-level the marks will not be precisely optically in line. The centre one will appear to be higher due to the gravitational effect on the water in the tube.
4) This effect can be checked and measured using an optical instrument like a laser beam or theodolite., etc.
Next week: How to build an ark capable of holding at least two of everything living on Earth for a month or so at sea. How to feed the lot of 'em and get rid of their waste products. How to stop the buggers from killing and eating each other. And how to repopulate the world with sane people and healthy animals despite the inherent dangers of crossbreeding. |

SO, here is the thing with religion: people tend to give a proper name to things they own or even know about it for a long time like for example: if I meet a dog I may call him/her Dog for a while, but after a long period of time I may call him/her Sam. Here is an old guy that people have spoken with for centuries but they still call him God; god is not a name just like I cant name my dog Dog or my friends Friend. There are like a thousand of Gods in all history of human kind so whick specific God are you talking to... Maybe I should call my cat Cat and name my child Child. |

One possible definition for the origin of life on Earth is the time at which the interval between devastating environmental insults by impact exceeded the timescale for establishing self-replicating proto-organisms.
A quantitative relationship for the Hadean (pre-3,800 Myr ago) and Early Archean (3,800 to 3,400 Myr) impact flux can be derived from the lunar and terrestrial impact records. Also, the effects of impact-related processes on the various environments proposed for abiogenesis (the development of life through chemical evolution from inorganic materials) can be estimated.
Using a range of plausible values for the timescale for abiogenesis, the interval in time when life might first have bootstrapped itself into existence can be found for each environment. We find that if the deep marine hydrothermal setting provided a suitable site, abiogenesis could have happened as early as 4,000 to 4,200 Myr ago, whereas at the surface of the Earth abiogenesis could have occurred between 3,700 and 4,000 Myr. END.
As I've said before, TIME and variable conditions would've eventually led to the sparking of life on Earth. Can you honestly imagine this NOT happening on a world with all the basic ingredients and all the TIME and conditions available?
